hmmmmmmmm you have a point. Does that mean that we can finally move beyond outdated party politics? Get rid of the electoral college? (made sense in the days of week long horseback travel to get vote results but in the day of instantaneous communication c'mon...)

ah crap **gets off her soapbox** sorry

If not, can we reinstate the Wig party? that'd be funny

This is neither a republican idea nor democratic one. It is a progressive idea, something both parties are getting more involved in these days.

I'm against the idea largely because I think the government should stay out of my personal business. If I want to say something anonymously, I think I should be able to as long as I'm not breaking any reasonable laws in doing so.

I somehow believe that politics in this country would be better if we paid attention to more then 30 seconds of Washington's end of term speech and didn't dabble in party politics...and as to the internet, it is impossible to make it illegal for anonymity *if I spelled it wrong I'm sorry I have a very tired spirit right now* on the internet as people would simply break that for one, for two it's also for protection not just personal privacy.

I think it was established straight away that this proposal was stupid, and it's immediately obvious that it'll never be passed. Can this thread stop failing hard now?

At least they don't have a law like in Illinois against speaking English. Found it on the same site.

From my home state:

It is against the law for a man to knit during the fishing season.

It is against the law to “frown” at a police officer.

You may not slurp your soup.

Cross-dressing is illegal.

There will be no boiling of bones on the property.

You may not throw a bad pickle in the street.

Don't pedophiles prey on minors in forums and chat rooms? How is providing them with identification of minors a good thing exactly?
